French fries


My 2 ½ yrs old nephew’s  first  effort  at sentence building was accomplished by saying “ eat  French fries” and so his love for them started. Even when  he is sick and I will ask “ Sasha what do you want to eat ?” In his sweet voice his answer will always be “ Machee  ( Masi ) french fries “ the only thing that he wants to eat is fries. So his visits to my place always start with his favourite fries.  With a disapproving eye from my sister I always give in to his wish. This recipe helped me tone down my sister’s eyebrow arch .Which I always felt one day will vanish is her hairline. With the effort for showing me how much she hates Sasha eating fried food .


Large par boiled potatoes -1

Oil 2tsp

Salt  to taste

Cut the par boiled potatoes length wise in  1 or1 ½ cm thickness. Put them into the freezer for 1 hrs. Add 2 tbsp oil in a non-stick pan and fry the fries. Take them out on an absorbent paper & sprinkle some oil. This way the fries are less oily and are  also crispy from the outside. Serve with tomato ketchup.

Tip: You can even bake these fries  after cutting them into lengths. Rub the oil & salt over them .Then put them in the oven at around 180 degrees.Keep checking on them & take them out when it turns golden.
